Hike the beautiful Hakone Geopark

Wonderful Hiking It was wonderful hiking experience for us. Akihiro was very friendly, welcoming and well-organized. Strongly recommended!

Fabulous guided hike Our hike with Aki for our family of 4 was a highlight of our two weeks in Japan. The trail is beautiful and Aki shared just the right amount of history to make it come to life, while helping us enjoy our time in the forest. We loved the beautiful artisan woodworking gift shop (not your typical touristy shop) and seeing how the centuries old craft is still alive. And the tea and mochi break was perfect. Our adult daughters enjoyed chatting with Aki and learning more about life in Japan. A nice bonus were some lovely photos of our family that Aki took and sent to us the next day.

The Hachiri trail comes alive! Akiro was an amazing host. His local knowledge of the area and history made the Hachiri trail come alive. Learning about how delicate inlays are made in a local shop was a real treat. Meeting the head of the family that have taken care of travelers for 13 generations an absolute joy.

Excellent views on a quiet trail. This was a moderately challenging but incredibly beautiful hike along the ridge of the Hakone caldera. The views of the surrounding countryside were incredible, and the views of mount Fuji were superb even with the clouds.Akihiro was a wonderful guide who knew a lot about the surrounding woods. He chose a trail that was almost entirely empty of other hikers even on a busy day. He was very good at tailoring pickup and dropoff at the beginning and end of the tour to each traveler's specific travel plans. If you enjoy a moderate challenge and want a guide for an excellent hike in a beautiful region, this trip is perfect.

Highlight of our trip! The highlight of our trip to Japan was this hike on part of the Old Tokaido Road with our guide, Akihiro-san. He is a certified national guide and fluent in English. His knowledge and experience gave us a remarkable sense of what life was like hundreds of years ago. It was not information overload or touristy in any way, but rather, we were able to hike at our own pace and absorb our surroundings. The weather was rainy and chilly and actually added a magical atmosphere to the hike, especially at the 400 year old tea house rest stop where a fire on the hearth and the 13th generation owner welcomed us. We highly recommend this experience!

Walk trail of Samurai Giving it was raining the guide and I decided to change hike to another he runs along the Hachiri road through Hakone mountains. It is the road Samurai clans took through mountains from Kyoto to Tokyo during edo period. Interesting hike and the guide Akihiro was very knowledgeable about the history.

Incredible Day Touring Beautiful Hakone Aki was the most amazing tour guide! The hike was 1,000 times better than if we had gone alone because he provided such a rich historical context. It was so wonderful to learn more about Japan and Hakone from him and to see such a beautiful area. He was also very flexible with our plans and was able to pivot last minute to adjust to my injuries. Aki also took wonderful photos on his fancy camera and sent them to us as soon as the tour was complete! We are so grateful we got to experience this day with him!

Day hike on the Hakone Hachiri. The views were amazing, even with it being overcast. Aki was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and helpful. The history of the area was fascinating. We got many memorable family pictures along the way, even in the drizzle/light rain. I can only imagine how beautiful it would have been on a clear day! I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone.

Incredible hike with beautiful scenery and the information that Akihiro delivers makes it intersting. Akihiro is an awesome guide. The hike was stunning but he makes it interesting and fun. I can't reccomend him enough and the hike through Hakone!!!!
